The well-known restaurant chain Arby’s is celebrating 49 years in business.

Store owner Jim Pipino said the very first Arby’s restaurant was located in Boardman and was opened by two men from New Castle.

The name comes from the first owners, the Raffel Brothers, or R.B.’s. Forrest and Leroy Raffel opened the store on Route 224 in Boardman.
