A state regulator wants the state to control fracking oversight.

Trumbull County Commissioners approved another road use maintenance agreement for a well site in Lordstown.

Halcon Resources plans to install a horizontal gas well at the corner of Yerke Young and Austintown Warren Road. This will be Halcon’s fourth well site in Trumbull County.

“They seem to be concentrating in the Lordstown area,” said Trumbull County RUMA Coordinator Jack Simon. “It seems to be a nice vein they hit there. They already have their fifth pad ready in Warren Township.”

Halcon just recently proposed a $70 million oil storage and rail loading terminal at the Ohio Commerce center. The new facility will be used to ship oil they’re producing through the Utica Shale play to markets outside the production area.
