2013 Watch List: Defensive Backs

The following athletes are players whom you should become aware of entering the 2013 season.

Zach Bigley, SR/Lakeview (PA)
2012: 55 tackles, 3 INTs
…Not just known for his play as the Sailors’ signal caller, Bigley led the defensive unit with 3 interceptions a year ago.

DaQuan Carter, SR/Liberty
2012: 97 tackles, 2 INTs
…DaQuan finished 2012 with 26 solo tackles (2nd on the Leopards).

Wyatt Ford, SR/Mathews
2012: 104 tackles
…Ford led the Mustangs in tackles (104) last year.

Jagr Groubert, SR/Lisbon
2012: 46 tackles, 2 INTs
…As a sophomore, Groubert tallied 15 tackles in 6 games. Last year, he earned his way onto the field and became an All-League Honorable Mention recipient.

Mason Hughes, JR/West Branch
2012: 60 tackles
…Mason finished with the fourth most solo tackles on the team (28).

Ryan Kohler, JR/Springfield
2012: 43 tackles, 4 INTs
…The 5’10 junior was able to take down 5 ball carriers in 2011. Last year; however, #11 improved that number by 38 (43) while hauling in 4 interceptions.

Chris Parry, SR/Niles
2012: 40 tackles, 8 INTs
…Parry was named to the All-AAC First-Team last year following his exceptional performance on offense and defense.

Darnell Tate, SR/Hubbard
2012: 40 tackles
…Over the last two seasons, Tate has intercepted 3 passes and has been involved in 79 tackles.
