Salem man charged in catalytic converter thefts

A Salem man is facing charges for stealing 30 catalytic converters from an auto salvage yard in Little Beaver Township.

Everett A. Finley, 51, is facing a third-degree felony theft charge. He entered no plea at his initial appearance and was released from the Lawrence County Jail after posting $1,000 bond.

Pennsylvania State police said Finley stole the catalytic converters, valued at $3,000, from Feezle’s Auto.

Police said several batteries were stolen from cars in various homes throughout Little Beaver Township from June 25 through June 30. Radiators were stolen on cars between July 3 and July 9 in Wayne Township.

And last week in Columbiana, more than 30 catalytic converters were stolen from diesel trucks at two car dealerships. It is unknown if the Columbiana case is related to this one, but police do have surveillance video from one of the dealerships.
