Central Pa. prison locked down after sex assault

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — A state prison in central Pennsylvania remained locked down a day after state police say an inmate sexually assaulted a female employee.

State police and officials with the State Correctional Institution-Rockview aren’t identifying either the inmate suspected in the attack or his victim.

Police say the woman was knocked unconscious in an unspecified area where she works in the prison during the incident Thursday about 9 a.m.

Prison officials locked down the institution Thursday and spokesman Jeff Rackovan says it remained locked down Friday.

Police were continuing to investigate the assault.
