Ohio investigators work to ID body burned in van

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities are trying to identify a person whose body has been found in a burning van.

Columbus police say they were called to the scene of a van engulfed in flames Thursday morning at a park on the city’s west side. When the fire was out, the body was found inside.

The body is believed to be that of a man, but it was burned so badly that the coroner’s office will have to DNA, dental records or other means to identify it.

Investigators aren’t sure whether the person was injured or killed by someone else before it was burned in the van.
