Work on the Route 224 bridge over Interstate 680 has reduced traffic to one lane in each direction.

Lane restrictions and closures were put into place over the weekend ahead of construction that is set to begin Monday.

The westbound lanes are currently closed and traffic continues to move slowly in the eastbound lanes.

The on ramp to I-680 northbound from Route 224 is also closed.

Motorists should expect delays in that area.

The $5.8 million project is scheduled to be complete by October 2014.
