A woman with a passion to help others is making hundreds of home cooked meals for people in need.
Michelle White has been serving the Youngstown community for three years. She calls her operation, Food 4 Your Soul Ministries.
White caters and uses the proceeds to feed people. She makes all the food herself.
Saturday she served up pot roast over rice, spaghetti with meat sauce, ham and mashed potatoes.
White sets up a tent on the last Saturday of the month in a parking lot on the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Parkview Avenue.
“This location right here, we have a lot of families that come here. They walk because they can’t get downtown,” said White. “I have three families that come between the three of them. It’s like 24 people because they have that many children so they walk here.”
White usually has clothes and canned goods available for the hundreds of people who come to her tent. While she has permission to set up shop in the parking lot of the old Mister Paul Bakery, she would like to buy the building and move her operation indoors.
