One hospitalized following East Side shooting

One person was taken to the hospital following a shooting on the Youngstown’s East Side.

Police were called at 11 p.m. Saturday to East High Avenue at North Truesdale Avenue night for a report of a fight with gunfire.

The victim, 39-year-old William McClain, was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound.

An SUV found near the victim was parked sideways on the street, with its front end in the yard. The vehicle had several bullet holes.

The police report states several shell casings were found in the street. No one has been arrested. Police have spoken to potential witnesses.
