“Bad Kitty” author guest at library event

Kids still hitting the books this summer received a special reward.

An invitation only “Breakfast Bash” was thrown by the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County on Tuesday for children who have read 30 hours or more during the library’s summer reading program.

Nick Bruel, author of the popular children’s book series “Bad Kitty” was the featured guest at the event.

The author talked with the kids about being a writer and how he gets ideas for his books.

Bruel will also be at the Boardman library Tuesday at 7 p.m. for an appearance that is open to the public.
