$300K equestrian center coming to Camp Fitch

YMCA’s Camp Fitch will soon be home to a new equestrian center.

Officials with The James and Coralie Centofanti Charitable Foundation are donating $300,000 towards the construction of the James and Coralie Centofanti Equestrian Center at Camp Fitch YMCA near Lake Erie in North Springfield, Pa.

The state-of-the-art facility will serve over 15,000 guests annually throughout the area.

“My parents had a love of horses to begin with,” said Dave Centofanti. “My father’s legacy has basically been either school oriented or directed towards children. This was basically a perfect combination.”

Camp Fitch works with over 80 schools each year highlighting outdoor programming. The facility includes cabins, hiking trails, rock climbing walls, a swimming pool and other outdoor activities.

The new center will open in 2014.
