Obama confers with Democrats on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is conferring with congressional Democrats in a visit to Capitol Hill.

The president received a birthday cake from House Democrats on Wednesday. The president turns 52 on Sunday.

Obama was also meeting behind closed doors with Senate Democrats.

Top items on the president’s second-term agenda, such as immigration and the budget, likely will be discussed.
