Purple Cat will install swimming pool

A local facility that helps adults and children with disabilities is planning for a big addition.

Officials at the Purple Cat Farmer Casey’s Ranch in Coitsville are hoping to add a swimming pool in the near future. The plan is to build locker rooms when the pool goes in, but some infrastructure improvements have to happen first.

Bill Coleman from the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineering Department said the county secured some grants to help pay for an extension of the sanitary sewer lines, and commissioners on Thursday approved extending those lines.

Most of the $600,000 cost will be covered by grants.
