Sewer line improvements approved

Sewer line renovations were approved Thursday by Mahoning County Commissioners.

Commissioners came to an agreement with United Survey for emergency services to rehabilitate some sewer lines in Austintown and Boardman for $43,000.

County officials said it’s a good time to get ahead of the game with failing sewer lines.

“The goal always is to keep the sewer operating as it should which is to cause the least amount of disruptions or problems for residents so our goal is to keep ahead of this to anticipate issues in areas that are densely populated,” said Bill Coleman of the county’s sanitary engineer’s department.
