Youngstown Police and The Ohio State Highway Patrol searched for a man Monday who bolted from a vehicle during a traffic stop on Youngstown’s South Side.

According to police, troopers attempted a traffic stop around 10 a.m. on a vehicle on Interstate 680 at Midlothian Boulevard when the driver, Jesse Lewis, 20, of Youngstown sped off and exited onto Midlothian Boulevard. Lewis then turned onto Shady Run Road where he stopped the vehicle and ran away, leaving two passengers. The passengers were questioned and released.

Police said the suspect has several warrants for breaking and entering.

A search continued in the area of Detroit and Boston Avenues.

OSP brought in a plane to assist in the search. The suspect was not found. An arrest warrant was issued.
