Gas leak forces evacuations at Philly airport

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Officials at Philadelphia International Airport say several gates had to be evacuated because of a reported gas leak, but operations were not disrupted.

Investigators say it happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, when crews found a leak in an overhead heater. Four gates in Terminal A West were evacuated.

Philadelphia Gas Works crews shut off the gas and worked to fix the leak. Airport officials say there were no cancellations stemming from the leak and that it didn’t affect airport operations.
