Dog exercise space dedicated

Trumbull County Dog Warden

Some dogs in Trumbull County have a brand new area to exercise. A new space has been created at the Trumbull County Dog Kennel on Anderson Avenue in Howland.

The exercise space was dedicated Wednesday in honor of Holly Jordan. Jordan volunteers at the kennel Monday through Friday and to honor her service, the exercise area has been named Jordan’s Run.

Jordan said she has a passion for dogs and said many are innocent victims.

“They don’t deserve to be dumped off, mistreated. They got feelings, they feel pain, they get depressed, and they just need someone who loves them and cares for them,” said Jordan.

Trumbull County Dog Warden Gwen Logan said the exercise area helps with training and temperament.

“We like all dogs to go out with temperament tests and evaluations. This way, you have the opportunity to let the dog off the lead and see how it recalls and see if it fetches the ball and those sorts of things.”

The Trumbull County Dog Kennel is always recruiting volunteers to help provide affection, attention and care to dogs. For more information, click here.
