An 11-year-old Youngstown startup company on Wednesday purchased an educational technology company.

Turning Technologies, regularly cited as a success story born at the Youngstown Business Incubator, announced on Wednesday they purchased Arizona-based eInstruction. Turning Technologies was founded in 2002.

Turning Technologies said in a statement they believe the acquisition gives them the majority market share of response systems.

Among eInstruction’s notable products now owned by Turning Technologies are Insight 360, a classroom instruction system, ExamView software and interactive whiteboards, the company said.

“The acquisition will further Turning Technologies’ leading market position in the response system industry, providing a greater depth of products and technologies to more market segments,” the statement says.

The company plans on moving its warehouse facility to Youngstown in the near future. The operations will include finance, sales support and operations support.
