Boy, 11, hit by gunfire in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was hit by gunfire while walking home in an east Cleveland neighborhood.

The Plain Dealer ( ) reports that it happened at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Sgt. Sammy Morris, a Cleveland police spokesman, said the boy was walking home when he heard gunshots. The boy ran home, and then realized he had been hit in the arm.

He was taken by car to a hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be severe.

Police said three men are being interviewed in connection with the shooting.
