Missing elderly Howland man found safe

An elderly Alzheimer’s patient who left his Howland home on Friday has been located and is safe, according to police.

The Howland Police Department reported Luke J. Hazlett, 76, missing about 6 p.m. They said he left the house between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday while his wife and daughter were in Cleveland.

Hazlett was found in the Conneautville, Pa., area about 8:45 p.m. after he ran out of gas and was assisted by a passerby.
