Festival highlights Latin cuisine

OCCHA hosted its second annual International Food Fest Friday. The event showcased cuisine from several Latin American and Hispanic countries.

Along with food, cultural music and dance were part of the program.

“It’s important to show other people because our food, the Latin food, there’s a distinct flavor to it,” said Hector Colon, event chairperson. “Just like the Italians have theirs, the Greeks have theirs, so does the Latin community.”

Proceeds will benefit OCCHA and its outreach programs. The festival runs through 7 p.m.
