Mercer Co. Democrats celebrate with a picnic

Democrats came together in Mercer County to raise money and support for a first-time candidate.

Marci Radcliffe is running for the office of Mercer County Treasurer.

She hosted a summer picnic Sunday afternoon in Hermitage.

Chairman of the Pennsylvania State Democratic Committee, Jim Burn, was the special guest speaker.

A few other candidates and committee members were on hand to show their support for Radcliffe.

“I have eight years of banking experience, the last four in investing at First National Bank of Pennsylvania,” said Radcliffe.

“That’s what the county needs with their tax dollars, because a lot of tax dollars goes into our county, and that’s what they need, they need experience in there, and the lady that’s there’s been there for a long time, but we need some new ideas in Mercer County,” said Charles Rice, Chairman, Mercer County Democrat Committee.

Money raised will help fund her  campaign to seek the county treasurer’s seat.  Radcliffe is running against 20-year incumbent Virgina Richardson in the November election.
