Animals are ‘down under’ at the farm

Kids from the area enjoyed some “down under” fun at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm this week.

The two-day summer camp wrapped up Tuesday with participants getting to meet unique farm animals from Australia. The “ag-venture” camp leaders led crafts, story-time and activities focused on the MetroParks farms. The camp had an Australian theme.

“What we’re trying to do is try to compare agriculture. Some of the animals raised on farms in Australia versus what we commonly think here in America,” said Education Programs Manager Brenda Markley. “There are obviously some differences, so the kids are having some fun learning about the unusual Australian animals.”

The kids also took a farm tour and learned about what the MetroParks farm has to offer.
