Ohio air show to have stunt pilot for 2014 event

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A Hollywood stunt pilot is scheduled to perform next summer at a western Ohio air show that dealt this year with a fatal crash and the absence of a military flight demonstration team.

Vectren Dayton Air Show officials said Wednesday that stunt pilot Patty Wagstaff will perform at the annual event on June 28-29.

Show officials said the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are again scheduled to appear, though it’s not clear whether military participation will be restored for the air show season. Appearances by the Blue Angels were canceled this year because of federal budget cuts.

The air show this summer drew much smaller crowds and was marred by the deaths of a wing walker and aerobatic pilot when their biplane went down in front of spectators.
