Kids join together for archery camp

Archery camp

Kids got a chance to try their skills at archery Thursday in Youngstown while meeting new friends.

Members of the Idora Wildcats 4-H group got together with a group of kids from Austintown in an effort to join children from the suburbs with kids from the city to see how the two groups can help each other.

Jim London with the Idora Park Neighborhood Association said the archery exercise helps with a lot of different life lessons.

“What I hope the children gain today with the archery is discipline,” said London. “Right now, they are being instructed on what to do. They’ll actually be doing stuff, some of the children have never shot a bow and arrow in their life.”

The Idora Wildcats 4-H group has been around for about four years.
