Sheriff’s agree to new contract

The Mahoning County Sheriff and the three unions that represent employees and deputies signed a three-year contract Thursday that could eventually allow for raises.

Officials said the contract has no pay raises for the first year of the contract but has wage reopeners the second and third years.

It also restored hazardous-duty pay and annual longevity pay.

The contract runs until June 2016.
