United Way celebrated the completion of the Success by Six Program on Thursday at Struthers Elementary School.
The program is funded through United Way and helps get little ones ready for kindergarten. Students showed their parents what they learned over the past four weeks and United Way representatives passed out nutrition trackers and calendars aimed at promoting a healthy diet for children and included ideas to keep them active each day.
“Everything from riding the bus to working with teachers and getting in to a schedule during the day,” said Struthers Superintendent Joseph Nohra, Jr. “Really, there is an academic pick up to it. The students are working on concepts.”
Success by Six runs through the summer and is free of charge.
