Crews battle Shenango Twp. fire

Crews in Mercer County worked to contain a fire in Shenango Township Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called around 3:30 p.m. to a house at 660 Bedford Road.

When crews arrived, smoke was seen coming from the roof.

A woman, who lives alone at the house, was home at the time of the fire but made it out safely.

A firefighter was injured in the fire but was treated by EMT’s at the scene.

The house was destroyed. A cause has not been determined.

The state fire marshal is investigating.
