Supplies given away in Salem

The Salem Education Association on Friday hosted a supply giveaway.

The teacher’s union had extra funds this year so they decided to donate $2,000 worth of pens, paper, crayons and markers for students in all grades.

They gave a special goody bag to the kindergarten students.

“That’s just the nature of our staff,” said SAE President Matt Ziegler. “They’re in education because they want to help kids and we just thought this was a natural thing to do. We had the extra money to put toward the kids and let them have the supplies.”
