Racing fans had the opportunity to see some NASCAR excitement first-hand.
Platt Insurance Agency in Poland hosted its first-ever “Touch a Truck” event.
Nationwide sponsors NASCAR, so the company gave local agencies the chance to bring a real car into the community so people could see it up close.
This is the first time this particular agency has participated, and agents decided to make it into an even bigger event, with other community agencies and free food.
“It’s just a community event for us to reach out, get to know our neighbors, so that’s what we’re doing, ” said Ellie Platt, agency owner of the Platt Insurance Group. “I think people really have an interest in nascar and so we’ve had a huge response today. We’re taking donations for nationwide children’s hospital so all the proceeds anything that we collect today is going to benefit nationwide children’s hospital.”
Platt hopes to host the event again next year.
