Two bells were removed Monday from the Immaculate Conception church in preparation for the building to be auctioned off on Saturday.

The bells from the church and school bell towers were removed from the building because the parish is merging with Sacred Heart of Jesus to form St. Angela Merici Parish.

The bells and other items removed from the buildings will be used at the new church.

“These are part of the history of this particular parish and we’re hoping to incorporate those with the bells at the Sacred Heart building at St. Angela Merici as another sign of unity and healing,” said St. Angela Merici Pastor Fr. Kevin Peters.
