Warren kicks off new school year

School will soon be back in session for students across the Valley and to mark the upcoming event, Warren City Schools held their first “Back to School Celebration” on the square in downtown Warren.

Tables were set up representing each school where parents could pick up important information and lunch menus as well as sign up for PTA or school volunteer.

Superintendent Michael Notar said kids are usually excited to leave school for the summer, and the kickoff is aimed at getting students excited to get back in the classroom.

“We are excited to get things going,” said Notar. “It’s just an opportunity for our community to come together. Mayor Franklin has done a great job, believes in our school system, and we are working together to bring a lot of excitement not only our school district but back to the City of Warren as well.”

The first day of school for students in Warren is Aug. 26.
