1 dead in motorcycle accident

Police closed Interstate 680 for over two hours after a fatal motorcycle accident Monday night.

A Canfield man died late Monday in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 680 in Youngstown.

Zachary R. Zarlenga, 32, died after he was speeding at about 10 p.m. on I-680 southbound past the Mahoning Avenue exit and rear-ended an SUV, the Mahoning County Coroner’s office said.

Zarlenga was not wearing a helmet. The accident shut down the highway for more than two hours.

Zarlenga was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m., the coroner’s office said.
