Police put out descriptions in attack on rocker

LAPEER, Mich. (AP) — Michigan police have put out partial descriptions of three male suspects in the abduction, beating and robbery of the lead singer of rock group The Calling after a performance at a festival.

The group says Alex Band was attacked outside a convenience store early Sunday in Lapeer, 45 miles north of Detroit.

The group says Band had a spinal fracture, three broken teeth and needed 15 stiches in his chin. It released a photo of him in bandages.

The Los Angeles-based group had the 2001 hit “Wherever You Will Go.”

Police say one suspect is white and about 30 with a scruffy beard and was wearing a camouflage baseball cap. Another is white and about 6-foot-4 inches. Police say a third was driving the van and had a darker complexion.
