Taxi jumps curb at Rockefeller Center, one woman hospitalized

NEW YORK (AP) — Celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz rushed to the scene outside New York City’s Rockefeller Center to help out when a yellow cab jumped the curb and struck a pedestrian.

Dr. Oz’s studio is nearby and he heard the accident this morning. He said in a statement that emergency medical crews were already at the scene treating the injured woman who had a bag leg wound. He says a good Samaritan made a tourniquet out of a belt for the woman.

The fire department said the woman was hospitalized. Another victim suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.
