BP donates meat to local charities

Two local charities are benefiting from the generosity of businesses in the shale industry.

Representatives from BP America, which is exploring the potential for oil and gas development in and around Trumbull County, delivered meat to the Warren Family Mission and Trumbull Mobile Meals.

The meat was locally processed from animals purchased at the 2013 Trumbull County Fair Junior Livestock Auction.

“We had a local processor cut it up into hamburger meats, soup bones, hams, anything they said they needed so that’s what they have here,” said BP Spokesperson Curtis Thomas. “They are going to stock their freezers and feed some hungry people.”

Pastor Chris Gilger with the Warren Family Mission said the meat will feed thousands of families.
