Senior Day held at Southern Park Mall

WKBN and WYFX, Northside Medical Center and other Valley businesses teamed up to present Senior Day at the Southern Park Mall.

The free event was held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the JCPenney concourse.

Hospital staffers provided free health screenings including stroke assessment, blood pressure, cholesterol and osteoporosis checks. There also was exercise classes, musical entertainment and hands-on activities.

“You know, we’re all gonna be seniors someday, and we really are just happy to bring a community event that brings everyone closer together, celebrating being a senior and giving them valuable resources and information, so they can continue on a lifestyle that’s comfortable and happy,” said event coordinator Debra Grim.

More than 35 senior-related exhibitors were there to give information to anyone with questions.
