Airport to get runway upgrades

Columbiana County

The Columbiana County Airport is going to be getting some upgrades soon.

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) Thursday announced $45,646 has been awarded to the Columbiana County Airport Authority by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration.

The funds will be used to rehabilitate the taxiway and apron.

“This is great news for Columbiana County,” Brown said. “These improvements will ensure the capacity of Columbiana County Airport.  These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

Columbiana County Airport is a general aviation airport associated with East Liverpool and operated by the Columbiana County Airport Authority.
