A 7-year-old boy riding his bicycle Friday was struck by an SUV in Liberty.

The boy was struck at about 12:15 in the 1400 block of Keefer Road. Reports say an SUV, driven by former Liberty police officer Robert Peduzzi, 74, of Liberty, was traveling north on Keefer Road when the boy pulled out of a driveway into the path of the SUV.

Preliminary reports say the boy may have suffered a broken leg and nose. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Peduzzi was not cited. The crash is still under investigation.
