Immaculate Conception Church and School now have a new owner.
Stephen Malutic of Campbell purchased both buildings at Saturday’s auction for a little more than $47,000.
A few others placed bids, including a person over the phone. The school was auctioned off first, then the rectory and church together.
The new owner said he has no immediate plans for the buildings but is considering a number of options. His grandson told us what he would like to see the building used for.
“I would like to see him renting it out, like for a hall and then we can get money for them and stuff like that,” said Austin Malutic.
“Steve is a good solid guy, and I feel pretty confident that he’s going to be extremely respectful of this property. He has a good sense of integrity,” said Father Kevin Peters, Youngstown Catholic Diocese.
Byce Auction and Realty said its has sold a lot of property to Malutic, and was pleased with the sale.
