Woman charged in death of baby found in Pa. pub

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A woman is facing criminal homicide charges in the death of a baby whose body was found in a restaurant toilet in northeastern Pennsylvania.

WFMZ-TV says Monday the woman is identified as Amanda Catherine Hein, 26, of Allentown.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli says Hein knew she was pregnant when she went into labor the night of Aug. 18.

A cleaning crew found the baby the next day in the tank of a toilet in the woman’s restroom inside Starters Pub in Lower Saucon Township.

The sports-themed bar and restaurant was filled with patrons Sunday night watching a Philadelphia Eagles preseason game on television.

Hein is facing a criminal homicide charge. Authorities are still looking for the baby’s father.
