A Youngstown man is facing federal charges for downloading and watching hundreds of child pornography files.

Leslie J. Coe, 67, of Delaware Avenue, was charged by the FBI Monday in U.S. District Court in Youngstown. He entered no plea and was ordered detained until a Sept. 4 detention hearing.

Philadelphia FBI agent James Zajac wrote in an affidavit for Coe’s arrest that Coe admitted to downloading hundreds of child pornography files depicting children as young as infants to as old as 17, and storing them on three computers in his basement.

The affidavit says Zajac investigated a peer-to-peer file sharing program used to share child pornography on March 8 and found Coe sharing at least three videos depicting child pornography from his Internet Protocol address. The affidavit says the videos depict two 9-year-old girls and a 3-or 4-year-old boy engaged in sex or sex acts with an adult.

The FBI raided Coe’s home Aug. 23 after obtaining a search warrant. Coe, according to the affidavit, told investigators he used the file sharing program to download child pornography and saved it to his computer.

Coe told investigators he downloaded photos and videos showing naked children and children engaged in sex or sex acts with adults or other children.

He also told FBI agents the last time he viewed child pornography was the previous night. FBI agents found hundreds of images showing prepubescent boys and girls engaged in sex acts on his computer.
