GIRARD – Niles, looking to build off last season’s strong performance, started off strong with a big win over Girard, 38-19.

The Red Dragons got on the board first as John Cicero scored on a 38-yard run, putting Niles up 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, Kyle Paden and Justin Lopes connected on a 72-yard touchdown pass, giving the Red Dragons a 14-0 lead. Paden aired it out again in the 2nd quarter, finding Chris Parry on a 50-yard touchdown reception.
Niles (1-0) will travel to Liberty next Friday to take on the Leopards.
Girard (0-1) will travel to Hubbard.
