Fire trucks set up at fair

Mahoning County fire departments showed off their equipment Friday at the Canfield Fair, as they do every year.

They set up in front of the grand stand and let kids get a feel for what it’s like to work in one of the trucks.

This year the Cardinal Joint Fire District set up their dump truck, which is used in areas with no fire hydrants.

“What we’re doing is dropping water from our tanker into this dump tank and we’re feeding it right back to our tanker which then, in hand, we use hoses connected from our tanker,” said Canfield fireman Derek Sullivan.
