On the first play of the second frame, Falcons QB Gabe Chepke ran in the first score of the game from three yards out. On Harding’s ensuing possession, Brett Weidenthal forced a Raider fumble that was picked up by Gary Gibson. Austintown wasted no time taking advantage of the turnover, as Chepke threw a 47-yard touchdown pass.

Chepke scored again from one yard out with 1:45 left in the 2nd after Weidenthal recovered his second Raider fumble of the night to extend the lead to 20-0.

A Harding fumble (their fourth turnover of the first half) was then recovered by Austintown’s Tyler Hewlett in the end zone for another Falcon score.

Austintown led 27-0 at the half.

Antwan Harris got the Falcon scoring attack going again early in the third quarter, finding the end zone from eight yards out with 7:54 left in the third. Then, following the fifth Raider turnover of the night (recovered by Casey Calhoun of Austintown), Darrin Hall’s 22-yard touchdown run put the Falcons up 41-0 in the third quarter.

Gary Gibson’s rushing touchdown extended the lead to 48-0, which would stand as the final.
