Mike McKenzie gave Southern a strong start to its 2013 season. The Indians senior scored his third touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter on a 17-yard run and helped the Indians to a 19-7 victory over Waterloo.

McKenzie’s 34-yard touchdown run gave Southern a 13-7 lead with 10:11 left in the 3rd quarter after trailing at halftime, 7-6.
Southern jumped out to an early 6-0 advantage against Waterloo when McKenzie scored on a one-yard touchdown run. The extra point was no good.
Waterloo responded with a short touchdown run of its own to take its only lead of the game at 7-6.
The Indians improve to 1-0 on the season. They will face Wellsville next week.
