Mooney falls to Imhotep Charter

Cardinal Mooney dropped its season opener to Imhotep Charter, from Philadelphia, 49-21, Saturday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.

The Cards first touchdown of the game was set up by a Mark Handel 68-yard run. Mooney punched it in moments later. That tied the score at 7-7.

The Panthers were able to score quickly after Deandre Scott scored on a 96-yard touchdown run as Imhotep pushed its advantage to 14-7.

Mooney drops to 0-1. The Cardinals travel to Boardman next week.
