New song to benefit Detroit Public Schools

DETROIT (AP) — A new song featuring Funk Brothers guitarist Eddie Willis will benefit Detroit Public Schools.

The single “Take It Slow” is being released on Sunday.

It’s part of the “Back to Class” music series spearheaded by ex-Four Tops drummer Drew Schultz.

Fifty percent of the profits from “Take It Slow” will be donated to the Detroit school district’s music programs.

The Funk Brothers were the Motown label’s legendary studio band.

Schultz released his debut album “Back To Class” last year.

As with the new single, half of the album’s profits went to the school district’s music programs.
