Ohio man surrenders after barricade incident

COLUMBUS,Ohio (AP) — A man who barricaded himself in a house in Reynoldsburg has surrendered to authorities.

Police say a woman called Sunday night and reported that her boyfriend was suicidal and carrying a shotgun around the house.

Firefighters evacuated residents from surrounding houses while SWAT officers from the Reynoldsburg Police Department and members of the Whitehall Police Department surrounded the house. A negotiator from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department talked with the man, who surrendered just before 9:30 p.m. after speaking to a family member.
