2 kids, 4 others mourned after Pa. head-on crash

KANE, Pa. (AP) — A 12-year-old cheerleader with an infectious smile and a 6-year-old boy described as a scrappy competitor in a variety of sports are among six people killed in a head-on crash on a northwestern Pennsylvania highway.

State police in McKean County say a sport utility vehicle crossed the center line Saturday afternoon and hit an approaching sedan in Allegheny National Forest, killing 6-year-old Jarrett Costanzo and 12-year-old Olivia Douglas and injuring two other people.

Also killed were four St. Marys residents in the car: 62-year-old Gary Beimel, 54-year-old David Cuneo, 55-year-old Elaine Beimel and 81-year-old Florence Donachy.

More than 300 people attended a candlelight vigil for the victims Sunday night at the Kane Area Middle School football field.
